Accomplishing Your Home Renovation Project With Interior Designers

Choosing an interior designer to revamp your home takes time, but it is worth it. Designers are equipped with the right kind of knowledge and skillset to help you arrange your home’s interior design. In addition, hiring an interior designer gives you the liberty to work and focus on the things you need to focus on while the interior designer labors on your home interior design. All you have to do is discuss with them what you prefer and they will do the rest.
Keep in mind that you have to begin with the kitchen when renovating your own humble abode. The kitchen counter or kitchen sink is the best way to start the renovations, then work gradually to the center, until you’ve reached the exterior of the room. Choose a countertop surface material that is simple but sturdy and makes a good impact among your household and guests. Also, be sure that the material fits your budget and taste. For example, engineered stone might look elegant and highly resilient to bacteria and stains, but it is also very expensive.
Renovation won’t be hard as long as you have a solid interior design in mind. It is also cool to mix and match textures and designs, and feel free to be reckless. Sometimes, it is better to explore styles, than to have a plan as well.
Selecting the correct color palette is also a rule of thumb when renovating your home. Choose neutral colors such as cream, gray and nude because they are easy to work with and offer a base for pop hues. They also blend with almost anything. Craft a nice rhythm too by distributing patterns and objects evenly transversely the room. Whatever rhythm you have created though, be sure that there’s a resting place for the eyes, be it a lamp or pillow inside the room.
If you are a bit laid-back and couldn’t care less with the association of colors and patterns, then it is fine. But keep in mind that your home should be full of surprises. Just because you’ve chosen a laid-back ambiance or color palette for your home, doesn’t mean it has to be boring.

How to Make Duct Tape Wallets

Step 1
The first step is to create a large sheet of duct tape 8.5 inches by 7 inches. This is the key to any duct tape project, with a sheet of tape you can make anything! Rip a strip of tape at least 8.5 inches in length and place sticky side up on your working surface. rip a second piece of equal length and place sticky side down half way over the first strip. Fold the rest of the strip facing up over the second strip. Flip over the two strips and place a third strip sticky side down covering the remaining sticky part of the second strip. Flip the sheet again and continue extending the size of the sheet until the needed size is satisfied.

Step 2
Trim the edges, fold the wallet in half and tape the sides to create a large pocket to hold bills.

Step 3
To create credit/business card pockets create another sheet 4 by 3.5 inches.

Step 4
Fold 1.5 inches over. To create two more pockets, repeat the step above and then tape the two pieces together, taping the second pocket a little lower on top of the first piece.

Step 5
Tape the edges of the pockets and then tape the whole piece to the large pocket. To create another pocket, leave the inside part untaped.

Step 6
Make a sheet of tape (as in the first step) larger than your ID card. Cut the sheet so the outside part of the frame is slightly larger than the height and width of the ID. Cut the inside .5 centimeters, (big enough you can see you picture and info, but small enough the ID can’t fall through the opening. Now trim the outside so it is slightly larger in all directions than your ID. Tape three sides of this window to the inside of your wallet, or on top of the credit card holder. It’ll take a some trial an error to get it right, but it will be a great addition to the wallet. When your done, the ID should be able to slide into the untapped side of the holder, and once in, not fall through the open window.

Step 7
Tape the completed pocket to the large pocket and again you can create an extra pocket if you wish by leaving the inside part untaped.

Step 8
Your wallet is complete.  There are an infinite ways to personalize this design. Some ideas I’ve embeded in mine are coin pockets within the large bill pocket and placing flaps on the credit card holders so business cards don’t fall out when the wallet gets dropped.

How To Make A Woodwork Sheds

If you wish to build a woodshed as your outdoor storage then here are some tips for you.
When it comes to outdoor storage a storage shed made out of wood is the ideal solution in most cases; it's a fast solution that can hold for years to come and I believe it's also the most flexible solution for you out there.
After reading this article you will know exactly why woodshed will be your best solution and where you can get the best shed plans that will help you complete your woodshed project in the cheapest, easiest and fastest manner.
First you might be concerned about how to build a shed? Well, don't worry, this is not as bit as hard as you imagine building a shed would be.
Today there are many online resources and classes that can easily teach you using step by step plans and guides how to build a storage shed out of wood.
These shed plans and guides were built to help you even if you are a complete woodworking newbie.
Also, some people might think that building a storage shed is a long process that is time-consuming and expensive. Truth be told, with the right shed plans, building your outdoor storage shed can be fast and cheaper than any other solution.
There are many options out there for a storage shed; you can use ones that are made of P.V.C, metal and sometimes even cheap plastic ones.
The thing is that all these solutions will end up usable only as a short-term solutions, due to their inability to stand in different weather conditions. Metal storage shed - although it sounds strong and effective method - they can actually only be used in limited environmental conditions and will need a lot of maintenance work such as anti-rust treatment or new coat of paint frequently.
I believe that you would want a shed that will hold for years to come, one that can even increase your property value, and one that will fit perfectly to your taste and storage needs.
Building a shed out of wood will give you the flexibility needed to fit both your taste and needs. You would want to choose a shed that is complementary to your home design, your backyard size and gardening.
There are many designs to choose from when it comes to wood sheds. You might want to choose a Lean-To shed, Gambrel shed; you might want a small shed or a large shed. Wood shed plans will allow this kind of flexibility.
In my experience the only thing you need in order to create a great looking shed that will be the most sustainable, easy and cheap to build is good shed plans.
You can get great shed plans online even for free, but beware, when it comes to shed plans you would want to choose ones that were created by someone with a lot of experience. You wouldn't want to get stuck in the middle of building your shed when you realize he skipped a step that seem obvious to him but might needed more explanation, or to find out you spend more money on materials than needed.
An experienced shed planner will also provide many options for you to choose from. You will get a variety of designs and some sort of help-desk or supporting panels such as forums or FAQ sections on his website.
In the case of shed plans I would recommend you to use ones that come with guarantees, and remind you to consider the cost of buying shed plans vs. the price you might pay for wrong materials or a shaky storage shed.

Woodworking Plans - Choosing the Right Plan for an Aspiring Woodworking Genius in Your Family

Every kid needs a hobby or two, and woodworking is a about as rewarding a hobby as they come.
Completing a woodworking project - no matter how simple, requires steps from start, middle, to finished end product. A finished project rewards the builder with a sense of accomplishment.
And it doesn't even have to be a complicated or challenging project. You can buy ready to assemble and paint wooden toys for a few bucks at local craft stores - simple as can be, just put the parts together done in an hour or two - no sharp tools are even required.
Perhaps a ready to assemble wood toy is a little tame compared to the plastic or electronic toys available today, but they're a very low cost, way of seeing if your kid has the patients and aptitude for woodworking, not to mention a little father son quality time.
As your child's manual dexterity improves he will become ready for something a little more involved. Maybe a birdhouse kit or a table lamp kit is the next project to undertake.
Better still, you can help jump start your child's creative problem solving skills by designing and building a birdhouse from scratch. That will really challenge them to think about how to do use the skills they've learned - how to lay out the patterns to cut from a sheet of wood, and how join the pieces together to go from inanimate pieces to a functioning thing of value.
When your child can think through a design and build it, he or she will have made real progress in their ability to think through and solve problems.

Easy Last Minute Kid Craft Ideas

Things do not always go as planned, and there will be times when you have to think on your feet to give the kids something to do. For example, you were planning on taking the kids out during the day but the car breaks down and now you need something to keep them busy. This is where easy last minute kid's craft ideas come into play.
There are several options you can go here, but the important thing is to remember that for easy last minute kid's craft ideas, you need to think of crafts that can be made with items you have in the house.
One example of this is macaroni pictures. Macaroni pictures make great last minute kid's craft ideas because they can be made with nothing but pasta, glue and paper. You can have the kids make something easy like an outline of their hand, or something a bit more complex like a landscape with mom and dad in it.
Another easy last minute kid's craft idea is to a cardboard house. With a cardboard house, you just need to find a few cardboard boxes, and then cut them up and let the kids build a one storey, two storey, or multi storey house out of cardboard walls. The kids can also put in windows and doors, and with felt markers, design the house. If you have paints on hand, the kids can paint the outside, or inside, of the house.
If you want the kids to be outside for their crafts, then all you need to do is get them making a little basket. This can be easily done using nothing but flexible branches, so you should have more than enough of those in your backyard. This last minute kid's craft idea can be done just by showing the kids how to make baskets out of the branches. They can make one large one with you, or their own individual ones. If done right, they will last for years to come.
With a large poster sized piece of paper, you can make a banner that all the kids work on with nothing but crayons, paints or markers. This last minute kid's craft ideas only needs a bit of extra materials, that you may have around the house, but it will allow you to use the kid's imagination to put together something that can hang on the wall for months, or even years.
Let their mind's run wild with what they want to design, whether it's a horse, house or a few words to anyone who will see it.
With a few extra crafts, and some of the items you have around the house, you can put together some excellent last minute kid's craft ideas.

Selling Habdmade At A Craft Show

  1. Find local craft shows, farmers markets and festivals in your area. Check out local newspapers to find events that showcase local artisans and vendors. You can sign up to be a part of those events or go to talk to the vendors and find out where the next event will be and get a feel for the markets and how much traffic they attract.

  2. Get a feel for your market before you dive in. The first craft show or market you attend will be full of unknowns. You won't know how the consumers will react to your product or if you will be left with nothing on your table or be packing up the same amount of items you came with. To avoid a huge loss, try to start out with the smaller events and work your way up. That way you can get a feel for them, what people like or don't like about your products and if they will be profitable for you.

  3. Bring photos of your work. If you can't bring a sample of everything you make, have a flip book at your table for people to see your selection. This will lower the risk of showcasing products at the sale that people may not be interested in.

  4. Ask for feedback. You can usually get a pretty good idea of what people like and don't like by watching their reactions and listening to their comments. But if you want more reassurance, ask them. Strike up a conversation with the shoppers that visit your table and let them know this is your first craft show or you're a new company and see if they have any feedback or tips for you. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, have a comment form at your table that people can fill out anonymously and be entered to win one of your products. Once you get an idea of what's working and what's not, adjust your products accordingly.

  5. Have contact information accessible. Keep a stack of business cards with your contact information on the corner of your table. There are many people who frequent craft sales without the intention of buying. But if they see something they like, they will more than likely go home and check out your website or contact you to find out where they can buy your products.

  6. Look at it as a learning experience. You're not going to walk away rich from your first craft sale but you will gain some knowledge. Whether it turns out to be profitable or not, use it as a learning experience to decide what you may do differently in the future or if you want to focus on an entirely different market.
If you have a handmade product you are thinking of selling, craft shows are a great place to test the waters. They can bring you face to face with your buyers and bring up opportunities like working with other vendors or meeting shop owners who may want to carry your product in their store. Whether you are looking to make some extra income for the month or start a new company, they are a great place to start.

Craft Ideas Throughout The Year

Keeping children busy is a full-time job for any parent or caregiver. Naturally, that entails finding them something to do throughout the year, and not just on an occasional day. Craft ideas throughout the year can help keep the kids busy, giving them not only something to do, but also something to help nurture their minds to the point that they are able to create vivid worlds of imagination that can help them in the future.
Typically, you will want to gear your craft ideas throughout the year to the seasons you are in. For example, in Spring, have the children take part in making flowers. These flowers can be made out of construction paper or cardboard, and painted in a variety of colors. As a result, they can put these flowers out for the entire year, giving a bit of flowery color to whatever season it may be outside.
In terms of summer, there are plenty of craft ideas that can be used in that season. Summer is an outdoor season, so you are going to want to make something that can be outside. One of the best things is something for a garden, and what goes good in a garden? A birdhouse! When you build a birdhouse for the garden with your kids, you are able to let them design it, and paint and decorate it, while you put it together for them. As a result, they are not only learning something about construction, they are also helping provide a home to birds throughout the year.
Once fall comes along, you are going to need to make a centerpiece for Thanksgiving. This will give the children an opportunity to collect some leaves and twigs from the yard for the centerpiece, which you can design with them. While the centerpiece is something that will only be around for a few days or a week, it can be a fun activity for you and your children, combining crafts, imagination and nature.
Winter is about one thing, and that is Christmas. When you are thinking of crafts for Christmas, why not have the children make some Christmas tree decorations out of various crafts. It can be chestnut snowmen, or perhaps some pipe-cleaner candy canes to hang off of the tree branches. The beauty of making Christmas ornament crafts with your children is that these are things that you can bring out each year, and 20 years down the road when they come to visit with their own children, you can bring out the ornaments they made themselves, so many years ago.
There are plenty of craft ideas throughout the year to use, all you have to do is think of the season and let your imagination wonder.

Easy Pumpkin Painting and Design

Halloween is almost here and around where I live there are piles of pumpkins sitting on the front laws of farmers houses with signs indicating to leave a few dollars for each pumpkin. This always seems to be the start of the Halloween season and with that means easy pumpkin painting.

Below are a few ways to help you create an exciting Halloween experience this year for yourselves and your families by learning how to do some fast and easy pumpkin painting.

First of all, you will want to find some pumpkins that have a somewhat flat surface on one side of the pumpkin. This just makes it easier for younger kids to paint the pumpkins, it's not actually necessary for pumpkin painting.

After that, go to your local craft store and look for an acrylic paint. This is the easiest to use for pumpkin painting and often you can find acrylic paints in larger bottles, which means enough to go around for everyone. In addition, these are usually easy paints for kids to use and come in a wide variety of colors in case you or your kids want to get crazy with their pumpkin painting.

Next, you will want to think about what it is that you want to create. Be sure to include the kids in the step of the easy pumpkin painting process. Do you want something scary?-possibly something funny? There are many pumpkin painting designs on the internet and you and your kids can get some great ideas by looking around the net for a few minutes.

Some personal favorites are creating pumpkins to look like celebrities. This isn't exactly pumpkin painting, but it goes over well each year as the pumpkins sit in all their celebrity glory on my front porch. For instance, I had a goofy looking George W, on one side of my porch, while on the other I had a Bill Clinton pumpkin. I put wigs on the pumpkins and painted some distinguishing features and added a tie to each for good measure. The kids didn't quite get who they were, but the parents thought it was great!

Easy pumpkin painting doesn't just have to be about painting the pumpkins either, as in the case above. Think about your pumpkins as Mr. Potato Heads and you are instantly drawn back to a younger time and may have some great ideas to use. For instance, take two pieces of corn and stick nails into them. Next drive them into the pumpkin on either side or when people ask you why you have corn stuck to the sides of your pumpkin, tell them that they are not corn- they are the pumpkins ears.

There are as many ways to paint your pumpkin and dress it up as you can come up with. Have fun this Halloween.

Face Painting: Birthday Party Favorite and Evolving Art Form

Face painting is a very popular kid's activity at carnivals and birthday parties but more and more we are seeing a trend painting its way across different themes and party genres. While some things remain traditional in the world of face painting, many things are changing for the better! Professional and theatrical techniques are enhancing the potential for flare and detail, and the products are improving to meet that change in service. There is a wider spectrum of interest and demand for creativity in party planning, luckily there are equally creative people willing to supply their talent!

Now days the world of face painting is beginning to move away from the thick lines and gooey itchy paint that has long been the standard. With the introduction of finer products and safer, brighter paints, the bar has been raised on what separates an ordinary face painter from a talented face painter. A major improvement comes from the creation of quality, FDA approved products for face and body painting. Parents should be aware of the type of paint, adhesives and glitter your face painter uses, this is a big concern that you should confront when hiring a face painter. Acrylics are a no-no. Craft supplies are not for skin, there is a high risk for irritation and allergy.

Designs can be painted on your cheeks or on your full face to create a whole new character or if preferred, familiar and iconic characters. Most face painters will have photo's to show you, but that does not always mean it is their work. A talented face painter will have their designs to show you and this is a good question to ask when looking for a genuine artist to define your celebration with a unique feature.

Arms, neck and legs are other popular areas to have painted, but in many happy mothers’ opinions, no other form of body art can match the creativity inspired by the canvas of a Pregnant Belly. This is a hugely requested baby shower activity that leaves behind much more than a photo memory, but also gives a unique and fun expression of a momentous time of life that can be share with baby forever!

Cheek art is commonly intricate work and takes longer to create than full faces, but if you are looking for extreme pizzazz in a full face piece, all talented face painters are going to take the time to give you the extra attention to make the full face design pop, sparkle or scare and always impress!

In the party supply planning services industry there are standards that remain traditional, most importantly that element of fun! Fun is enjoyed on both ends of the face painting experience. The artist always has a different canvas to work with and the person being painted always walks away from the face painting chair with a smile, if not, I've never met a face painter who will refuse to rework the design.

Almost anyone can be a face painter hobbyist, with instructions and practice they can make a bit of income. But when a skilled face painting enthusiast gets a hold of a willing face, the imagination is full of possibilities!

Personally, I have traveled all over Texas to work and had the honor of taking classes from one of the best in the industry. I have worked everywhere imaginable from street festivals to upscale gallery scenes and of course the traditional backyard birthday party or family reunion. Yet, I am still learning my trade through interacting with the kids and the young at heart alike, everyone I work with brings something new for me to add to my evolution in this art form. I am currently working in the very beautiful and richly creative Austin Texas area full time. The local Motto here is, "Keep Austin Weird", and I have had much pleasure doing my part, painting a smile on, one face at a time!

Face Painting by Lisa, Lisa has been a professional face painter for 10 years. Her Colors Without Boundaries technical vision is constantly invigorated and influenced by the exceptional people who sit in her chair to have their faces transformed.
